Bully 2: New rumors promise to be announced soon, what’s up?

Could Bully 2 actually become a reality? According to various sources, there should be new information soon. We bring you up to date with the current state of affairs.

Update from December 15, 2021: In the meantime, Blake Hester from GameInformer has made it clear that he did not want to trigger speculations about Bully 2. He had announced a “new story soon” on his private Twitter account and posted the Bully logo to go with it. Many took this as an indication of an upcoming reveal, but according to Hester it referred to an upcoming article:

He doesn’t know whether Bully 2 will be announced anytime soon or whether it was planned for The Game Awards and apologizes for the confusion. You can read more about the current rumors about the alleged new Rockstar game in our original message.

Original message: In addition to GTA or Red Dead Redemption, it is easy to forget that developer Rockstar Games also has completely different games to offer. For example Bully: The lap of honor, which was first published in 2008. Since then, fans have been waiting impatiently for the sequel Bully 2, about which there are now new rumors.

We’ll tell you where the rumors about Bully 2 come from and whether fans should actually hope for a sequel. After all, it is not the first time that speculation about new rock star games has been circulating on the net and causing a stir.

Bully 2: New rumors promise to be announced soon, what's up?
There are (again) rumors about Bully 2. We provide you with all the information.

Will Bully 2 be announced anytime soon?

What are the new rumors saying? According to established industry insider Tom Henderson, we should have been surprised by an announcement from Rockstar Games at the Game Awards 2021. Specifically, Bully 2 was supposed to be shown, according to Henderson, playable material was shown to selected people the week before the event.

Interestingly, in the run-up to the Game Awards 2021, the rockstar news channel Rafik had promised a big announcement by Rockstar on Twitter, which should make disappointed fans forgiving. Behind this, of course, many suspected that there would finally be news about GTA 6 – but Rockstar should not be involved in the Game Awards after all.

In this regard, it is also exciting that tweets from editors of the GameInformer clearly tease something about Bully. The posts can no longer be found on Twitter and Alex van Aken of the gaming portal denied that a soup to Bully 2 is simmering. The tweet alludes to something else.

In view of these developments, it is of course reasonable to assume that something could happen to Bully 2 in the foreseeable future.

Why fans shouldn’t get excited too soon

The source is considered credible: In recent years, Tom Henderson has earned a reputation as a reliable and credible industry insider. Especially in the areas of Call of Duty and Battlefield, his predictions and previously shared information often hit the mark.

In the meantime, Henderson seems to have found access to Rockstar Games as well. In the past few months, he has repeatedly shared insights into the development of GTA 6 – although this potential information is currently difficult to verify, or even impossible to verify. The fact that Henderson now knows about possible news about Bully 2 is of course anything but absurd.

What could happen at GameInformer: Of course, it is noticeable that GameInformer, independently of and parallel to Henderson, promised something about Bully 2 – but then tried to cover up the traces. It is possible that this was done on the advice of publisher Take-Two and developer Rockstar Games and that Alex van Aken’s denial should be understood as damage limitation. However, the clarification by Senior Editor Hester suggests that an article about Bully will soon appear on the website and that it really could have been a misunderstanding.

As early as 2019 there were rumors that Rockstar Games was working on a sequel to Bully in 2008 and that it pulled the plug again in 2013.

We asked Rockstar Games whether the developer would comment on the current rumors about Bully 2. However, experience has shown that we do not expect a meaningful answer.

Regardless, fans should definitely take the speculation about Bully 2 with caution. Because that the rock star classic from 2008 will actually be continued is anything but certain.
